Post by Viola » Fri Aug 06, 2010 5:24 pm

OK..how do we get our pictures to the < 6 kb so that we can upload them. Is there an easy way at all?

Thank you. It would be great to see everybody.

Depends on the type of file type Dawn - if the file extension is .bmp you could try changing the file type to a .jpg or a .gif which is a smaller file than a .bmp. You may lose some quality, but it should be okay.

By the way when you say you want to see us all, does that mean if you post a photo as an avatar you can actually see us through it??   (Jane goes off to tidy her hair and put her make up on   )

When I was young (a long time ago), I used to think that ..if I could see them on the telly, then they could see me.

I made sure I didn't pick my nose while watching the Coronation.

Ha ha...you two are funny. Yes Jane, if I put my pic up I will be able to see ALL of you so look out! Is it any wonder webcams really haven't taken off as the powers that be expected?! Thank goodness.

All my files are jpegs but they are all over 8 kb some waaaaay over....I wish I was more savvy. How did Stu and Dave do it then?

I know...whoever runs the board from the technical whizz point of view...how about they change is so we can upload jpegs bigger than 8 kb? Yeah....that'd be the go....:-) Not that I want my ugly head on here...I do have some very nice piccys though that I use on other sites..vintage piccys that are beautiful. I'd rather be Clara Bow than a smiley face anyday. :-)

Hi
You need to open the photos in another programme, such as Paint, then shrink and save. Keep doing this until it is small enough

Cheers

no avatar - no tea

If you don't have a picture editor, you cand find freeware image resizers or converters on google.

Brilliant. The moderators need to give this address a star position somewhere!
