Re: Life as a GP practice manager
Not in Scotland, Jane. You talk about the “UK”. In Scotland the vaccination rate is safely around the 95% level. No coercion, just common sense. Enforcement would make no difference in Scotland

Re: Hello again
Hi Bob, welcome back. I had been wondering where you were hiding. Sorry to hear the bad news. But you can make your life easier - you can apply for a stairlift, 80% paid for, if you apply to the local council. And have a look at electric wheelchairs, which can have oxygen bottle carriers appended so...

Re: Life as a GP practice manager
I’m sure that this is not “NHS” management in general, it’s the Tory government telling NHS folk that ALL contracts have to be put out to tender, including private companies. This is supposed to increase efficiency and value for money. This has not been thoroughly policed, I have to say, it all depe...

Re: Cooking meat
I eat beef raw on occasion. Both as carpaccio, and steak tartare. Wouldn’t eat pork or lamb raw, except, in the case of pork it’s charcuterie. Parma ham is raw pork, it’s just meat that has been cured in salt, hung and dried for a year or so. So we eat uncooked meat all the time, we just don’t notic...

Re: Low - Zero alcohol drinks
I drink ‘no alcohol’ beers occasionally when out for a meal. The problem is that some of them aren’t that nice, so it would be interesting to look at some reviews.
They do contain a trace of alcohol, but no more than you’d find in a ripe melon.

Re: Life as a GP practice manager
Is Stockton really full of psychos, drug addicts and alcoholics? Not a very pleasant place to live? We didn’t get such cases even when I worked in Maidstone with one of our surgeries on the biggest council estate in the UK. Is it the water in the North East?
