Re: Proper Attire in the Bedroom

  My first car was an Austin Allegro (yes go on, laugh!) and bits used to routinely fall off and cascade down the road behind me as I drove along. Being young at the time, I never bothered to investigate what they were and just carried on driving. Bits of the interior trim used to regularl...

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

This is one of the main reasons I left full time teaching to work from home instead. We were subjected to new initiative after new initiative, each one reinventing the wheel over and over again and none of them ever staying in place for long enough to find out whether or not they actually made a dif...

Re: Last night

Or when someone overtakes you at breakneck speed on a small country lane and then they are one car in front of you in the queue at the next junction. All that wasted stress, petrol and danger, and for what? I have a selection of choice words for those types but I won't list them on a polite forum :w...

That all sounds very difficult for him - you both have so much on your plate. You obviously have a lot of love for each other, though.

I'm glad the doctor went better than expected. Does he think things might improve or settle in the next two months?

Re: Lovely warm weather

I was teaching piano this afternoon and honestly, it was a pointless exercise as all my pupils just drooped in the heat. One of my teenage pupils (they don't spare my feelings!) kept picking up the piano book to fan herself with. I mused over with her as to why I wasn't in possession of a fan....

Re: Today, My Pain Mgmt is Like...

Oh Sassy, I do feel for you. It's hard enough going through all your health worries without crying for hours because of your husband. Did he know how much he had upset you? I suspect most marriages hit hard times somewhere along the line. I've been with my husband for 25 years but we've ridden a few...

I do hope you're starting to feel better, Sassy. You always sound so brave.

Fingers crossed the new stent helps. Keep us posted.

Re: Over stretched NHS

I too think a coalition or similar would help moderate some of the worst excesses but in our very safe Tory constituency, the conservative MP (who is new) is so sure of her seat they are the only party we've had no leaflets from, nothing. They can't even be bothered to campaign round here. I wouldn'...

Re: Lazy gardening

Sassy, those burrs make me a tad embarrassed about wanting a weed burner for a few dandelions! Sharon, that looks great. If we can manage a month without unexpected car or pet bills :| I think I might invest in one. Our patio is looking decidedly weedy. I'm curious as to the two temperature settings...

Re: Oldest/youngest

When my mum and dad were first married, they rented a flat in a huge detached house. The landlady/ owner used to constantly boil a pig's head. My mum says she can still remember the smell to this day. Once she was ill and the lady brought her round a bowl of tripe, very grey and wobbly, to make her ...
