Re: Alan's blog........

Sarah has some advice on the Alan/ JJ situation. Sarah pays her eldest daughter £2.50 a month for Steve to share a portion of daughter's Netflix. Daughter's job is to regularly send Steve links and suggestions of long, long series which will appeal to him. Sarah bought Steve a good pair of earphones...

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

  I showed Alan the bit I’d missed and said I’d never done that before to which he replied “how do you know?”.  135 emails  I honestly think our lives were easier in some ways without emails. I have over 10,000 unread. My life has continued fine, to my knowledge, without...

Re: Alan's blog........

Sarah used to have life insurance but eventually decided it made getting into arguments with Steve too risky in case he thought (probably quite reasonably) that the money was a better deal. Sarah thinks there should be anti life insurance. This would mean that if a Sarah met an untimely demise, Stev...

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

Glad you enjoyed the break!

Last time I dyed my hair there was a bit that didn't take, right in the middle, at the front. Typical to be that bit as it's where I've naturally lost the most colour and really need it. I was very annoyed. I look like a badger

Rain!

I don't know if it's the same for those of you up north but here it hasn't rained for weeks and weeks and everything as far as the eye can see is yellow. Our grass has been yellowy brown straw for weeks now. We've just come back from camping where we were put under a tree. The tent is covered in sti...

Re: Bad start to the week

I do feel for you, Richard, you haven't had much of a break this year. Let's hope you find some kind of work and it sorts itself out at least a little. Do you have any skills you can market from home? I'm self employed and it works well for me. The downfall, however, as I've found again this week, i...

Re: Smile google is watching

It'll say "Step away, Mike, you've eaten quite enough for one day! The fridge is now locked until tomorrow."

Or "your milk is past it's sell by date anyway so I've saved you some energy by turning off".

You're right not to do it, I think. It can only end in disaster. :D

Re: Place to visit

I saw the Mary Rose not long after it was first lifted and remember being distinctly underwhelmed. It just looked like a slab of wet wood! However, younger daughter's boyfriend visited not long ago and said it's well worth a visit now, so maybe I should go back. We live just down the road, so ...

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

Jane I thought of you today dealing with NHS inefficiency day in, day out. Five weeks ago I had a pre op for my gallbladder but had to admit to them I was having a 7 day heart monitor for palpitations etc this last week. They can't operate without the results of that so asked my GP to hurry the test...
