It's all in English but I can't understand what it means...ahh, the cultural exchange. washing up liquid= dish soap cream cleaner= not sure if there is an American equivalent (at least not one I am aware of...) biological laundry detergent=laundry detergent w/ enzyme boosters (hopefully I've got tha...

Re: A book I must recommend
Totally agree Jane. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve worked my way through Val McDernid’s Detective Karen Pirie books - the first 5, anyway. Finish one, buy the next. Pre order the sixth. Enormously enjoyable, because they are mainly set in my old stamping ground, the Kingdom of Fife. Couldn’t do...

Continental Cleaning Differences?
I am trying to get back into the cleaning groove. I have some daunting tasks, but I am trying to tackle them with some of the tips from "How Clean is Your House?" Unfortunately, I am having some difficulties trying to translate your cleaning items to American equivalents. What are the following and ...

Re: Today, My Pain Mgmt is Like...
Thank you both for your replies/responses. I am glad to be one step closer to home. I have a new friend named "squishy pillow". I use it to bolster my abdomen since 30-40 staples are holding me together. They come out next Tuesday. Still healing up, so not sure what is post-surgical pain and what is...

Hi Folks, I am glad to let you all know that after a few days in ICU I was able to go back to a normal room and a few days after that I got to leave the hospital. The pulmonary embolism is very real, as were the two continuous blood clots in my legs which span all of the vein and like to flap. I tri...

Things have taken a less than optimal turn.
I have been moved to ICU for monitoring for my new pulmonary embolism. I should be fine, but a very rough time as the surgeon decided to remove my appendix and repair my mid-gut malrotation.
Type to y'all soon.

Re: Today, My Pain Mgmt is Like...
Hi folks, A quick update: Adrian, I think the Lidocaine patches work because the area of the pancreas is the second most nerve dense area in the body. The nerves aren't all buried as deeply as the pancreas, so spasms originating from nerve issues may be soothed topically (which apparently makes sens...
