Re: Total Pancreatectomy

Hi Andy! Good to hear you are still on the forum, we hadn't heard from you for a while. Obviously you have been busy. I am sure your advice to David will be absolutely brilliant in terms of helping him make a decision. I am sure you enjoyed your son's wedding and not fair on the slipped disc! Hugs J...

Re: Life as a GP practice manager

Indeed! I have to say that I have noticed the vast majority of people in shops are still wearing masks, apart from, unsurprisingly, the younger ones   . I suspect we are spitting in the wind with this group. They will never listen to us old, boring people. And in fairness I didn't...

Re: Alan's blog........

Jane agrees with Marilyn completely except mad Ma has done this before   . She seems to think the 111 number is a doctor sitting at the end of the phone in the middle of the night just waiting for old folk to phone about their medication   . "Oh doctor! I've dropped my last p...

Re: Alan's blog........

Jane cannot sit inside when the sun is out, the need to bask is bigger than her!  Jane did however avoid the sun and sat in the shade for most of the day, and that was simply because Jane started to feel sympathy for Sunday joints if she sat in the direct sunlight. Indeed Jane wen...

Re: Life as a GP practice manager

It is so worrying! Sadly Marilyn we can't stop the youngsters from starting to go about their 'normal' busy lives any more. They have had 15 months of curbs and are no doubt itching to start to live again. At that age you think you are invincible and that bad things happen to other people don't you?...

Re: Total Pancreatectomy

Hi David I work in a GP practice and I cannot understand your original consultant's change of heart. It is certainly odd. I cannot imagine it is for either of the potential reasons you mention. Hospitals (unless private) don't care about 'losing' a patient. And if you were suggesting a complaint I c...

Re: Alan's blog........

So yesterday Jane saw number one VERY intelligent daughter, lovely SIL and the grandbump who is cooking nicely :D :D . They are not finding out the gender of the baby which is all very well but makes Jane's impulse buying of baby clothes difficult   . This is probably just as well becaus...

Re: Life as a GP practice manager

There was no excuse in the first place Marilyn! Can you imagine the poor nurse having to do that and the poor patient having to hear it? Maybe the nurse should have had the guts to refuse but it is not always easy with consultants. Meanwhile on my last day at work for 2 weeks I had to write a policy...

Re: Alan's blog........

VERY yukky   . So today Jane was out and about and saw the second Betty. Betty is Jane's mini which is orange with a black roof. There is one other Betty in Stockton and whenever Jane and the other Betty's owner see each other they wave    . Jane thinks this is rather cute...

Re: Alan's blog........

Alan (whose blog this is) annoys Jane already but only when he's breathing    . And Jane has already taken Marilyn's advice and done some shopping :D :D . That didn't take long did it?  And on the way home from the shops Jane popped to see Georgie who has decided for his ne...

Re: Life as a GP practice manager

Terrible treatment of the elderly patient who was refused a home visit! The patient's sons need to put in a complaint. It won't help their dad but it may make the GP practice think! As for your customer: The cancer pathways are very strict in the NHS (I am assuming cancer but of course it may be som...

Ah the power of democracy :D :D ! One letter from Jane and the Health Secretary falls on his sword :D . Jane is basking in her own power and is wondering who she should target next?  There are so many to choose from   . Jane is considering setting up a money-making sch...

Re: Life as a GP practice manager

Another busy week and as a result I have agreed to be a pilot site for a new initiative whereby patients who ring the practice with minor self-limiting issues (sore throats, hay fever, coughs and cuts) will be booked into an appointment with a local community pharmacy to speak to the pharmacist. The...
