Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

I did think they lasted forever, but thought I had better check. I understood about new vaccines for new strains but why would we 'need' the same vaccine as last year if we are still covered?

Re: Rasism

I loved him Stu. That was a gem. I also loved that he was at the stop smoking clinic and when asked how many he smoked a day, he said 4 :D He was very serious about it all so good on him. These little things make that programme.,

Re: Xmas 2018 is nearly here

Turned on already? Ours usually go up around half term, i.e.now, but aren't turned on till late November. Maybe your council were testing them, or there was a mistake somewhere. Seems a bit early for sure and it isn't even halloween yet. Even Disney wait till after Halloween

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

So how long does a particular strain flu vaccine last in our bodies? Only 6 months, a year?

Re: Rasism

Well this has made me mad this morning Jane. Just ridiculous rules these days. Trouble is if you want to get rid of her you have to give a glowing reference or else she stays with you

Re: Newbie

It can take quite a while to feel better Gina, sometimes many months, so don't worry too much when you feel weak and tired, just go with the flow if you can for now. Well done on stopping the alcohol too as that is great for your pancreas and of course life in general. Did they find a reason for you...

Re: Newbie

Hi Gina and welcome. Hopefully we will be able to help you. Just a quick welcome post from me as I have to be going out. I imagine you will have a lot of questions, so just ask away. Sadly it seems to be common to be discharged from hospital with little information  . Were you diagnosed with a...

Re: A book I must recommend

Not a big reader nowadays but we are really enjoying Killing Eve on TV Stu. That mix of pure evil mixed with clever humour is excellent viewing. I was really surprised when the humour appeared but really like that side of it. I would think the book would be even better if you read it prior to watchi...

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

I was chatting to John about this and he mentioned the letter we received from our GP practice about our flu jab appointments. I hadn't actually read it  but had thought the late November date we were given was, well, erm, rather late. They apologised about the delay in the vaccine and ...

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

It does seem something goes wrong every year with the flu vaccine. Maybe the whole thing needs looking into.....but that would mean a big well paid committee, with an even better paid chairman, spending a year to come up with a report and suggestions that are then thought an talked about for another...

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

And exactly as Marilyn says - would you want you or your family to go to see the GP whilst feeling poorly with the potential to be subjected to a foul-mouthed rant by a drugged-up patient in reception? I was really meaning the spread of resources, money, staff etc. affecting all the other patients....

Re: Life as a GP Practice Manager

I think people who are signed on, or whatever the modern term is, have to apply for so many jobs, is that right Jane? Some who don't really want a job will just find an excuse not to go for an interview or some other way out. Our son had this happen when interviewing for a warehouseman. (As an aside...

Re: Hello

Good to hear from you Sharon. Paul made a thread wondering if you were okay, so it is nice to hear you kind of are. I hope you get a diagnosis soon. I guess they are thinking gastroparesis? Yes, hopefully prior to your move too as moving mid investigations can be a pain, but with your time scale it ...
